I need advice--please read and put your opinion!

What exactly is the problem here???????????????

The guy smurfette is talking out seems to be a pretty intelligent guy that doesn't need to work as hard as her to get an equal/better grade. Why should smurfette feel resentment towards someone just because they got a good grade on a test??? I'm sorry smurfette, but you will realize as you progress through high school and college that there will be kids who will sleep in all their classes and still ace the exams. Besides, if life was fair, then George Bush wouldn't be America's president LOL.

Personally, I think you just focus on your own performance in Physics and not worry about someone else's grades/behavior/attitude unless it directly impacts you, which fortuantely doesn't seem to be the case here. However, I do agree with the opinion of others that you should try to seek a seat change with your teacher if that is at all possible.

Hey, and if he is still bothering you, I think it is possible that he has a crush on you or something. If you haven't noticed already, we guys are really bad at communicating our true feelings.;)

Why don't you solve the problem and get the right answer and then write a big wrong answer and circle it. Let him hand his in and then erase all your answers and change them to the correct ones.

I think the teacher contributes a lot to this problem. I mean, what kind of a qualified teacher would actually help a student on an exam?

weedboy: if some1 is trying to get answers from you, tell them the wrong answers. if they threaten you, get your most innocent look and say ' i really didn't know'.

for smurfette: don't tell him how you feel...tell the teacher. complain about the whole 'help-him-on-the-test' thing. OR, talk to the guy after class, where the teacher can obviously hear you. throw in a few good words about the teacher, and you pretty much won the game.

OR

spread rumors! say exactly what you told us to all of your buddies all around the school. throw in a few words about how he spread false rumors about you being a b***.

hope this helped!

I too see the teacher as ta major factor in this problem. if the guy was not getting help from the teacher and still able to maitain his high grades well that just means he's smart. I know life isnt fair but some people just dont need to study as much as others. my friends complain to me about the same things for math because I havn't touched my math homework since grade 9 yet stil lmanage to maintain a very high standard in math. its not that I dont like doing the homework, its just for most of the time I have better things to do (such as preparing for an upcoming math competition or catching up in other classes) i know my friends don't like the fact that they work alot harder than me ( stay after school and review, doing all their homework) but they deal with the fact that I don't study.

I see a problem with the guy's attitude as well. even if he is smart enough to not study,he shouldn't be belittling others. (also another thing is are you sure he is doing what you think he's doing? there are tons of guys in my school that acts like they don't do any work, but most people can figure out that they do in fact do all their works they just done like to admit it)

I know this situation seems unfair but just do your own best and try to ignore it. everyone learns at different speed with different methods, and if his test marks are purely based on help from teacher, his marks'll drop sooner or later.

I can totally understand if he doesn't study and gets good grades. Some of my friends are talented at that :)

But I know that he isn't studying or doing his homework because on on of the worksheets, I volunteered to go up to the board and work out the problem. I figured it out the night before, so I decided to volunteer. When I turned around to get my calculator (I didn't get the final final answer.) I saw him copying exactly what I did on the board and I wasn't even sure if I did the problem right! He only did one problem and that was the easiest one. The rest he copied off of the board and gave himself a perfect grade on the assignment. (My teacher makes us check our own homework.)

Our test was worth 150 pts and they were all story probs. If we had the wrong sig figs down or didn't get the trig right, then we were marked off five pts. I got marked down and some of the smartest kids I know, got marked down too. He got everything right.

I also found it wierd that when my teacher wanted someone to explain how they got on of their answers on the test, he didn't volunteer even though he was the only one in the class to get a 100%. My teacher didn't even ask him(!)

Everyone I know doesn't like him because of his mooching habits.

I found out that we were the only two people in the class to get A's on that test. He obviously got a higher grade than me though. I'm sort of upset that I worked so unbelievably hard and got an A, but this guy mooches answers from my teacher and gets an A+. I don't care about the grade because I know an A in Physics is awesome.

Even in my trig class, he tried to mooch answers off of the substitute. (My regular teacher is pregnant so she left. Even she told him one time that he was finished with the test and took it away from him when he literally spent a half hour after class finishing two or three probs on the test.) And then while my sub was talking to another student about something, I saw him looking at his answer key and I saw him looking at the other tests my classmates finished. I didn't say anything though (which was definitly a mistake.) My sub even seemed hesitant and told him that he wasn't sure how much he should help him out because he didn't know how my regular teacher handled this. (Btw, he missed a half an hour of another class trying to mooch answers.) And then this kid was actually giving him the answers while my teacher's back was turned. He kept walking over and looking at this girl's answers and then he kept going back to his seat.

I am definitly going to work my ass off even more in Physics because right now he has the highest grade in the class. (Perfect grades on assignments and now a perfect grade on that test.)

Again, I don't want to sound whiny or anything so please don't attack me. tries to duck

And Ewwwww...... I don't want him to like me and I don't like him. :)

He sounds like a pretty tite guy to me.

I was sorta thinking that... Like I would definitely give myself a perfect grade. Why not?
