Ok, this is probably the stupidest thing ever, and a horrible “idea.” But I really want to make a next-gen thing. I am in 8th grade and love computer science and math but I still haven’t learned how to create software or an app in my computer science classes (I am dying to learn how). So I found this website that can basically do it for me. I just give them the idea and they make it happen. Anyways, my idea is to make an app or software that teachers can use in their classrooms or the entire school even, and basically connect all the electronics in the class (tablets, computers, phones, etc.) to kind of a Bluetooth sort of thing, and they can modify the volume. So, for example, if the teacher modifies the volume of every device to 100%, if someone is watching YouTube secretly, lets say, it plays out loud in the class. Then that teacher, and everyone in the class knows that person is off task. PLEASE don’t think I’m stupid. I’m not. It’s just a random idea I thought of and about 15% of me thought it had potential. That’s why I am asking you guys if it sucks or if it’s not a bad idea. And BE HONEST. Is this a bad idea, or a good one?
I think that your idea has merit, but is morally wrong. For the example you give, turning a student’s phone up, would possibly be an invasion of privacy. Also, if a student has a phone out and is watching something, its normally noticeable (teachers see more than you think). I’m also not a CS expert or anything, but I’m not sure how feasible it is to have one device connect to all others without gaining permission from the rest of the devices (like how you have to connect bluetooth headphones through the settings). Sure, teachers could make it mandatory, but that could also be seen as an invasion of privacy. Overall, it’s a decent idea, but once you get into the technicalities of it, there’s some legal and logistical stuff that makes it wishy-washy.
thanks.
