I got a 1200 last time, 520 eng and 680 math, but i NEED to get it up to a 1300 with at least a 600 on each, which means i need to raise my eng score by aLOT (at least 80 points!)

I am taking a prep course at skool and i have been doing drills as well as trying to know all the ubiquitous 400.

is ther anything else i can do at this point?

if its CR ur talking about then nope. not much u can do. i have the same problems and i will tell u wat they suggested to me. i say focus more on ur math, aim for a 730-770. CR is really tough to raise in 10 days

^well the fact of the matter is the university where i want to go to (Texas A&M) has automatic admission for all applicants that are in the top quarter of ther class (which i am) and scored at least 1300 out of 1600 with at least a 600 on both CR and Math

But i still have to chek if it applies for out of state students like me

Agreed with socal. Rasing CR is rediculous, it takes alot of time- you can’t just learn a handful of concepts here and there and expect to do well. It took you your entire life to be at the reading level you are at now-10 days is hardly enough time to change into an entirely different reader. Focus on the other subject areas and memorize a few vocab here and there. Goodluck.

i improved from 450 to 600 in 2months..
memorized barrons 3500..i can remember 2/3of them now..
and read prep books, took prep class..
also i read some books in summer…
i think it is hard to improve CR such 100 pts in just 1 or 2 weeks…
u prob should focus on math..up ur math score to 750..and do some passages everyday..spend more time on reviewing..

good luck buddy..im struggling with the damn CR too…

^ to all, do do u guys think that at this point i should just try and memorize as much of the ubiquitous 400 as I can?

Should I also do some reading drills? maybe one or 2 a day?

ALSO, My sat prep course teacher for the CR section said he recommends doing the reading and answering part of each CR section first and then do the vocab last, I used this method on the May test and felt pretty comfortable getting the big part out of the way. Would any of you recommend using this method again, or should i try a different approach?

no dont memorize all those words. i say if u want to try benefit ur vocab. to some small point, try to memorize some roots, suffixes, and prefixes and their meanings.

sure y not. 2 a day sounds good. thats where most of the CR is about.

really good advice wat ur prep teacher said. do it again. reading passages is what the CR is mainly about. dont trip about the vocab.

I think you should ease the CR. Do the CR practice when you feel up to it. Don’t just ram the CR practice into yourself, especially when you feel jaded from doing too many. You’ll only make more mistakes and waste a CR section you could have practiced upon efficiently. Efficiency > Quantity.

i agree with shiomi on that.
wat i personally do is i do a passage ~ then look at it with new eyes, then finalize my answers, usually i stick with the original answers, then i review and check,i spent about the same amount of time reviewing as i did solving. passages u cant rush through, its doesnt matter if u took 100 tests and did all passags if u dont review and dig deep inside ~

[memorize some roots, suffixes, and prefixes and their meanings. ]

tat doesnt work for me…i memorized these roots, suffixes and prefixes through memorizing barrons 3500…

i think…dun push urself too hard..just try ur best to read some passages everyday day,do some math..dun be too nervous..yeah,and Rocket Review really works..if u have time.buy it and read it over

i only want 500 on the CR. about how many questions do i need to get right and how many can i omit? I am currently memorizing the RR 300 core words, hope those words will help me…

i tried to remember the roots stuff but doesnt work=.=
i noe ppl do it..3500 in 7 days,do nothing just memorizing 3500..crazy ppl..
i think it is more important to understand the structure of the sentence…sometimes i feel dizzy b/c the sentence is so complicated..
