Okay, so my AP Literature teacher wants me to do an individual study project. He asked me about my interests, but I explained how there is an array of topics I would love to do. So he wants a list ASAP, and then we will develop the type of project from there.

Can anyone give me any interesting topics I could base my project on?
The topic could be about ANY subject (math, physics, philosophy, government), which is why any suggestions will be immensely appreciated!!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

philosophy…definitely or you could do math

That is absolutely at the top of my list! But is there anything more specific about philosophy that you suggest? Like Plato, Aristotle, Paulo Coelho (considered a philosopher), ect… something they have done in specific…

You can start by listing what makes up the “array of topics” you had in mind then go from there. I think you should study an author you’ve never heard of, someone far away from you in both time and space!

That is very interesting. Thanks!

Specifically I would obviously study Aristotle, I think in general he had more influence on the development of philosophical views. His reasoning set the standard for many more successive generations of philosophers, so yeah.

^But that’s so Western. Why not study the Shijing from ancient China? Or the mystic poet Rumi, from 12th century Persia? You could read Dostoevsky, or maybe Aim

We have been discussing it, but he wants me to be sure of the topic. So until I have my eyes set on an idea, my project will begin!
@Fran–Thanks for the post… very interesting!
