I need help breaking 2100+

As you might tell from my username, I moved from Canada to the U.S. Here I heard about this horrible monster called the SAT. Being a highscorer-90%+ in Canada, I approached the SAT with a cautious but overall confident additude. This all changed when I did my first practice test. I got a 1500 (or around there) and it felt like I hit a roadblock. But since then I trained everyday of my summer so far for the SAT (i am a junior by the way...tough situation huh) I made huge improvements, my scores are now around 2100 in practice tests but I have reached a plateau. If someone could help me out that would be great.

PS this is a great site thanks to all the SAT advisers here

I need help breaking 1700.

Hey could you help me? I scored 1560 on the SAT my first time and I have one more chance to score at least 1900 (my goal). My main problem was the math, but you can give me any tips! :)

I think math is super easy if you can get algebra and trig down which is elementary.

I think it was the probability that got me. :c

have you read the pinned prep tip threads in the SAT-preparation subforum?

in THIS subforum, I should have said. got lost.

I went from a 1580 to around 2020 now

But I need help to score higher :(

I can help you guys and give you tips on how I made the 600 point increase. But only if i know where you are at right now. Just give me your scores, what you got for cr math and writing and also tell me what you have problems in like spot the error.

KayJazz, I would reccomend you a youtube channel called MindfishSAT they have great videos on probobility and also watch a couple of vids on permutations and combinations

@canadianhopeless I am actually trying to reach 2100. I scored a 1900 on the SATs; CR 630, Math 630 and Writing 640 with an essay of 8 (i didn’t study much). I am really trying to go up 200 points to achieve a 2100, can you spare me any advice/tips/etc?

sassyginger. The first thing I would do in your case is to study the math. Math is usually the easiest to get better at. I would reccomend you take timed sections, all three of them for a test. THen review each question and try and figure out what it’s testing e.g. angles, area… Then go to youtube and watch videos on that area to help you understand.
Let me know if that helps.

Pepsbaby. Just like sassyginger I would reccomend you study math it is the easiest to improve. Just read the tip I gave to sassyginger and try and follow it.
Let me know if that helps.

One more tip: If you have troubles with spot the error in writing than go check out my thorough explanations of test 6. just follow the instructions i have posted there.

Kdswish: you don’t need trig for the SAT.
OP: Look up Noitaraprep on CC.
