I'm an incoming freshman and I am trying to solve the dilemma of how I should approach the R & C requirement. I got a 3 on my AP Eng. Language and I took both English 1A and English 1B (which are transferable) at a local college. I know my R & C requirements are fulfilled, but what would HAAS think about this? Would they look down upon this? Do they want me to take R& C classes at Berkeley instead? Would it be wise to retake these courses at Berkeley instead?
Also I have taken Intro to Business and Econ at CC, but I'm pretty sure I should retake them at Berkeley.

They only see the first course you take.
So even if you did re-take it, it won’t count.

Also, check assist.com to see if they actually transfer. Business I know does not transfer.
Econ transfers only if you took macro and micro.

so even if i retook english 1a or english 1b it wouldn’t count since I already took them at a local college? I don’t get this because I thought transferable classes taken at a local college will only show as credit and no grade. Couldn’t I retake this at Berkeley and get a grade instead? Does HAAS look down on me for taking english classes at a local community college? Sorry, if I sound redundant and dumb. I just want to make sure.

bump this!!!

I actually took a statistics class that transfered.

I have to take statistics 21 again for econ…
But Haas would not accept the stats 21 I take at Cal, instead they will only look at the first stats I took, which was the stats class from my cc :S

So no, they don’t look at new ones.
But they do look down at cc grades.

Which makes me so frustrated…
