Quick question about Haas and APs

Hello everybody, I was looking over the assist.org page for Haas, and noticed that underneath the “English/Reading and Composition (R & C)” portion of the sequence, it says “Do not assume that this sequence can be divided. Unless the R1A and R1B equivalents are separately specified above, the entire sequence should be completed at this school.”

My question is: what does this mean lol. I took AP Engilsh and Language composition, receiving a 5 on the exam. This allowed me to skip past the equivalent class for R1A. I thought that this was alright because on this page: http://www.haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad/aplist.html , it clearly says getting a 4 or a 5 on English Lang means R1A is not required. However, on this page: http://haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad/transfer_admissions.html , it says this:

"Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Students preparing to apply to transfer to UC Berkeley for the business major must satisfy the following major-specific requirements for the Haas Undergraduate Program:

*****Prerequisites: All prerequisites for letter grades
Language: The foreign language requirement
Units: Completion of at least 60 semester (90 quarter) units"

I may be overreacting, but I just wanted to make sure that I am on the right track. I’ve applied this fall and have a 4.0 in all my major prerequisites (other than UCB R1A, since I used AP)

Thank you all for your help, and I hope that everybody is enjoying their winter vacations!

The best thing to do is shoot them an email. It sounds like it is fine, but double-checking can save a pound of grief later. They have an email on the site.

As Lindy suggested, just email or call them. To my understanding, some schools have one class for both English/reading and composition, and there are others that break it into two classes over two semesters/quarters.
