UW- Madison and UW-Seattle have great reputations for CS grad school. I don’t know about undergrad though I would think that would translate to some extent.

Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Princeton, and Rice are best for undergrad CompE.

I was a prospective Computer Engineering major when I applied, so here are my recommendations:

UC Berkeley
UC LA
UC San Diego
Stanford
U Washington - Seattle
Georgia Tech
UIUC
Cornell
Northwestern
Virginia Tech
U Michigan Ann Arbour
Rensselaer Polytechnic Instt

I would recommend looking at CalTech, MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and Johns Hopkins as reaches. RPI, WPI, U Michigan, Berkeley, and U Rochester are solid mid-tier schools for computer engineering. Drexel, RIT, and Rose Hulman would be nice safeties.

I’m a current student at WPI, and while I’m sure that the top schools like MIT and Caltech have stronger programs, I’m going to recommend WPI’s computer engineering without reservation. It’s a very solid program, and you might want to consider it as a financial/academic safety if you’re going to apply to schools like Caltech and MIT.
