I need help narrowing down schools.. any advice?

I decided to apply to 6 schools, but it's so hard to decide! I have ten or so I'm interested in, and I keep looking at more and more. There are just so many to choose from!

A little about me: I am a serious track and field/cross country runner, and I'm a dancer, specifically modern. I'm looking for a school with a strong humanities curriculum, and I also want a good creative writing program. Also, student life is really important to me, and I'd prefer a school with a great community. A larger school would be ideal, and I want one as far away from Alabama as possible. :D

Schools I'm interested in:
Andover
St. Paul's
St. Andrew-Sewanee
Leysin American School
Interlochen Arts Academy
Kingham Hill School
Stevenson
Wasatch Academy
Millbrook
Cate
Hotchkiss

If you are so serious about track and field and cross country you should probably take Interlochen Arts Academy off the list. If you want a good humanities and creative writing program you should probably focus on one of the well known schools like: Andover (alot of school spirit), St. Pauls (2000+ acre campus), Hotchkiss (pretty good athletics), or Stevenson and Cate.

P.S. I am applying to BS too and these are just things I have heard about the schools. Don’t take my advice too seriously. :D

Good Luck!!!

I know it isn’t on your list, but I’ve heard that Milton has a really well-known creative writing program.

Interlochen seems like a great place for dance and creative writing.

&& like Urbanflop, I’m applying too, and these are just things I’ve gathered from other people’s posts. :)

Disclaimer: I go to Stevenson.

Stevenson sounds like a pretty good fit. CA is very different from Alabama, we just had a great if not the BEST XC season ever (we won a bunch of stuff), we have a dance program that I’m not familiar enough with to judge but seems pretty decent, pretty strong humanities curriculum (AP English, AP European History, AP Word History, AP United States History, Creative Writing class, Short Story class, Humor in Literature [not totally sure on the titles of the last three classes but they exist]).

We are not a very large school though (550ish students), though our community is pretty tight. Everyone knows everyone else, and everyone is really friendly.

to the op…
I’ll just assume that on your list of schools you saved the best for last ;)

Thanks for the input! St. Paul’s, Andover, and Stevenson are definitely on my list of schools to apply to.
