I'm currently a Music Business major at a CC and from what I've heard NYU Steinhart has one of the best programs in the country. I plan on graduating from the CC with the associate's degree and hopefully transferring into Steinhart. My GPA is a 3.7 and I'm in the Honors Program as well. I still have another year to go so my GPA will most likely get higher. I have to audition inorder to get accepted and I know that the audition will have a big factor in my acceptance. But the only problem that concerns me is the fact that I haven't done any ECs because I worked alot to pay off some bills (including college tution) and went to school. Now that I paid everything off and don't work anymore I plan on volunteering at the local hospital, join one of the music clubs, get a job as a tutor, and maybe becoming a member of the student government during the fall. I really don't know if the EC's would look strong on my application though since I would only be a member of the groups for less than a year. Now I was thinking that maybe I should space out my credits alittle more and stay an extra year so I can be in the EC's alittle longer and be more involved in them. But I really don't want to be in a CC for 3 years, so does anyone think its possible to get accepted to NYU with doing just a year of ECs?

I don't know if this helps me getting accepted in anyway but my college has a signed agreement with NYU for the music business program where all my credits transfer and honor students receive a 20,000 scholarship.
