So, I was admitted to UCSC for fall quarter of 2016. Due to my lack of understanding of AP Calc AB i received a D for spring semester which resulted in my immediate cancellation of my admission. However, I took an online class to make up for that D and I got a C on the online course. I was unaware that the campus did not allow for students to retake classes over the summer but would that help, anyway? I changed teachers during the school year because I was not understanding the first teacher and so I switched but the other one didn’t help at all. Also, I feel like the death of my grandma and a close friend (their deaths were one month apart) also affected e greatly because it was towards the end of the school year and i was already mourning one person when I lost another. Do you think this will greater my chances to get the appeal??
Is Calc AB your third year of math? If so, you may not be able to get an appeal, as it would then count as one of your A-G courses.
From the site:
Otherwise, it sounds like you have good justification for your appeal. I’m afraid I can’t help much with the specific content to include, but I wish you good luck with it
No Calc was my 4th year of math. And thanks tomorrow I will be mailing my appeal tomorrow. I was able to get a supporting letter from both my vice principal and principal from my high school.
@Khial9: according to historical data from years 2014 and 2015, about 350 applicants were rescinded (cancelled) due to not meeting provisional admission conditions. Why are you asking on 3 separate threads?
Also, I seriously doubt too many of the rescinded applicants would be posting on this website.
