I know many have been rescinded due to their poor grades senior year, but has anyone gotten their admission reinstated through appeal?

I’ve seen some people gotten their admission reinstated through appeal. try to email them and see what happens. you might get lucky.

do you know what they wrote on their appeals?

I sent an appeal via letter mail, and haven’t recieved a notification back. Its been a week should I call them or wait a little longer. they did recieve the letter according to my tracking number. Hoping for the best.

I have heard of alot of people who appealed and was reinstated back to UCR, as long as you did not get more than 1 unsatisfactory grade and if it was not an a-d requirement then you should be fine.

I received an email today saying my admission is in jeopardy because of the D’s I got in Calculus my senior year. The thing is this was in 2009 and when I was rescinded from UCSD so I waited a year and applied again. This year I put my senior year grades on my application and I thought that they had admitted me knowing that I had the D’s in Calc, up until this point. I will be attending the Orientation on the 23rd and this is really getting to me, if I get rescinded I don’t know what I’m going to do since this will be the 2nd time and it will be so far in the year. Sent an email to admissions so they can contact me or give me a number so I can call them. Is there anything I can do or am I doomed?

did you do anything to correct the D’s from the first time in 2009?

There was another poster that had a D they reported on the application. That poster got in. If they accepted you knowing about the grades, it would surprise me if they rescinded with no additional detrimental information. If they do, I think you have good grounds for appeal.

You should respond as soon as possible, pointing out that nothing has changed in the information given on which your admission was based.

BTW - you don’t have to apply as a transfer if you are applying a year after graduation from HS?

you might want to look at posts from “ask ms sun” she is a college planner who has been helping students with appeals. she has a website and participates on facebook.

how long does the appeal usually take? I sent a paper appeal, so should I expect a paper response or an email response?

I talked to one of the counselors and she said I was fine and nothing was wrong with my admission status.

As for the transfer part, I don’t know I thought that at first but since I didn’t enroll full time at another school I got in anyways (Riverside, Davis, Merced, wait listed by SD)
