I need help writing an Exeter essay!

Hi! I don’t even know how to start and how to be outstanding! Can you share yours with me please?

The most important thing: Do not get help. Write your essay on your own. The moment they smell someone else’s input, they will drop you. This could be problematic for many kids who are seasoned writers, I know, but the consistency of their package will rescue them in such case. The admissions get to see your writing skill through other windows as well, such as your SSAT essay and your English teacher’s evaluation. So be your self, project your own voice, tell them who you are. Candor is such a precious quality - esp. in the period of hyped-up admission competition. Good luck!

@OmgWassUp: As you are new to this board, you may be unaware that all posters are advised not to share essays. It is doubtful anyone will oblige your request. You need to do your own work.

I’ll add that essays change every year so the essay questions for the upcoming application cycle won’t be posted for months.

But if you want to get a jump on things, start jotting down ideas and brainstorming if you are already brimming with ideas. Then come fall when you need to write in earnest, you’ll have a few brainstormed ideas as a launching pad and maybe a few of the ideas will work well in the requested essays. But I would not recommend spending 10 months worrying about your essays or trying to write them this far in advance.
