I need major help in improving scores.

Hey CCers, this is my first thread made on here! (WOOT!)
My problem is, I'm an IB student and I honestly think I can score high on the SAT/ACT, due to the great amount of material learned in my IB & AP courses. However, I guess im just not a great standardized test taker? I know that these scores will not get me anywhere interesting in college, so I figured that I need to improve this summer, for the next available testing opportunity.

I would love to score around 600-670 for each subject, but it will take alot of hard work that I'm willing to do at this point.

Test Prep Books I Bought So Far:
Barron's ACT 36 (read math, writing so far)
Collegeboard Blue Book (8 full tests i think?)
Dissecting the ACT 2.0 (I heard this was amazing, but I haven't had time recently to work on this)
Kaplan's SAT 2010

My Stats:
SAT:1690 530CR 530W 630M
ACT:23 23W 26M 25S 17R (OMG READING = ***!)
4.1 Weighted GPA I think 3.3 unweighted??
African American (100% Ethiopian! :D )
Co-Founder of our Fencing Team
Vice President of Business Professionals of America
Parliamentarian of Drama Club (Registered Thespian too!)
Acted in 3 Productions, one as a minor role

I would really love to go into FSU or USC Film Production or Acting, but I want to be able to have other college opportunities like UF and UCBerkeley, which I doubt I can be accepted to with these scores. I hear that people get into these BFA programs with very high SAT/ACT scores, which worries me.

What I'm asking exactly is, What should I do to earn a score around or above 2000/30? I know I can do it, but what technique would enable me to improve asap for my next test?

I believe that I can score a 2000+ or 30+ with hard work, I've gotten 5's on APs and I got 6's and 7's on my mock IB tests for ITGS. If I can do that, I think I can score good on the SAT or ACT.

Thanks! :)

Oops, I meant to say 4.2 Weighted GPA. Sorry.

The best that CC has to offer in regard to improving your scores on the SAT can be found in that link above.

A lot of the same techniques can be used to master the ACT but there isn’t the same volume of help available specific to the ACT because of the difference in popularity of these two tests (at least on here).

It should be more than possible to improve your scores to where you want them.

i would suggest the princeton review classes. they really helped my raise my score from a 1950 to a 2200 so give it a try!

Thanks! :)
