Cornell hotel grads typically do very well after graduation. They are definitely not poorly paid. The Hotelies I know work in everything from hospitality consulting, to brand management, to running corporations. The undergrad program has a very strong business focus, hence why it’s part of Johnson.
Don’t worry about your scores, they are good. Do your best in writing the thoughtful essays to make you stand out !
Not to digress but I disagree - looking at the Masters (forget the undergrad), 88% of job seekers employed within 6 months (not great); lower than lesser MBA Programs.
Average salary of $60K. Equivalent MBA - $138K.
Interestingly, undergrad had a higher salary - but not for property or hospitality jobs - so I stand by my statement, if you want to work in hospitality itself, you can get better bang for the buck.
My main point to the OP is that - since they’re highly unlikely to admit even though it’s the path into Cornell - there are other options - and not to put all eggs in one basket.
And if one wants to work in hospitality, they could do so via a business degree.
I’ll admit - not a fan of any hotel school - but more importantly - the OP needs to have matches and safeties.
I don’t know his UW but if W is a 3.9 and they have rigor, then the UW is lower and it’s unrealistic to assume an acceptance. They can hope but not count on.
