I need some advice?

Hello there!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I don't know where else to put it.

Here's my situation:

I am going to my local community college, I'm on financial aid. My first semester I did horribly. I had no motivation, dropped 2 of my classes, and failed the other 2. I was put on probation for my financial aid. This semester I was supposed to pick it up. However, I had a biology class that had weekly lab, I missed 3 labs (personal reasons) causing me to fail. So I dropped that class, went in to talk to a counselor and they said I'd be suspended from the college & financial aid for a year. (Yikes, right?)

I've looked at my situation and realized it's just lack of self motivation. It's me not wanting to do school and me not wanting to do be motivated. I'm enjoying my freedom too much, and to be honest, I really shouldn't have gone into school right out of high school, I should have taken a semester off.

So, now I don't know what to do. I've come up with two options so far:

1) Start to look at other colleges (Technical colleges, programs I can go into.) Pay out of pocket, get my GPA up and then transfer or go into the job market.

2) Take a semester or a year off, work full time, get myself together and then look back at schools. I was planning on saving up some money for school.

My actions as of right now are going to be this:
*talk to my financial aid counselor.
*talk to academic counselor. See if there is anything I can do to maybe appeal (Though I doubt I have anything for a case.)
*Work harder on current classes. (I'm doing fine in my other two.)

So my question is. What do I do from here? I'm confused and scared and I now know that i effed up majorly and and unsure. Any advice would be appreciated. I know I can bounce back, but I don't know the first step to take.

I think you have a good idea with your planned actions. Talk to your counselors and see what they recommend. You do know you’ll have to start paying back any student loans 6 months after leaving school, right?

I am aware of that, I’m just not sure what to do.
