I need some help...please read this

I'm taking the PSAT in less than two weeks. I've studied hard, taken three practice tests...my scores are pretty good, in the low 220s. I'm not satisfied with that. However, I notice that every time I take the test my scores keep going down!!! What do I do?

Just worry about the SAT. Pull a 2300+ and you're all good!!!

I'll probably get around 165-175 on the PSAT in 2 weeks. But I don't care. I won't let that stop me from working hard to pull off a 2100+ on the SAT in March WHEN IT REALLY COUNTS!!

Nah, the PSAT can get you Merit Scholar stuff. It's still important!

Where do you live? In some places, a 220 is awesome. In others, it is not.

Remember that fluctuation of scores is entirely normal, especially on the PSAT, where missing just one more question could have you taking 4 point hits. If you are taking some prep company's tests, while it's good practice, don't pay much attention to the scores you get. Just the selection of test questions, your level of alertness, or other random events could easily cause your score to fluctuate. Unless you honestly see some major point drops (10-15 points), you should assume that your score and abilities are identical as compared to the previous time you took it.

BTW, I was getting 220-224 on the PSAT Bulletin/Kaplan PSAT tests and ended up with a 236 (80 CR 80 M 76 W) on the actual test. I can't tell you if anything I did actually helped me, but I slept for about 14 hours, woke up 2 hours before the test, had a light breakfast of oatmeal and bananas, walked my dog around the block, and listened to Sonata K448 by Mozart and had a Red Bull 30 min before the test. I drank a Gatorade/Red Bull/ Caffeine mix during the test. Did any of this really change my ultimate performance? Eh, it couldn't have hurt.

yea, redbull!
