I resently moved into the U.S (non citizen) from Nigeria with a tourist visa and now I are hoping to school here (to study networking or cyber security) but most of the schools I applied for requires ssn… is there any certain way I can change my visa status from here or are there colleges that doesn’t require the ssn
Are you in high school? Are you with parents?
If your Visa hasn’t expired you can apply for a change of visa status.
Most schools don’t require a SSN if you’re not a citizen.
I’ve completed my high school in Nigeria .
My visa hasn’t expired.
How can I change my visa status from here?
And can you let me know schools that won’t require the ssn
First, apply to a community collegeb(unless you have sat/act scores).
Get in, get your I20, apply for your F1visa.
You’ll need to justify why you didn’t know you’d want to study in the US and applied for a B2 instead of a student visa. Your answer better be good because if they think you liked to get your B2 they may well refuse your F1.
Can the college change the visa status?
No. Only Embassy staff can give you a visa.
You apply to college. Once admitted the college gives you paper work. You make an appointment and you go with your paperwork at re time they scheduled. You go through your interview. Only then is your Visa changed.
