I need something to do over the summer.

<p>I want to major in Environmental Science/Studies in college. I am 99% sure of that. It is really the only thing I am interested in.</p>

<p>What can I do over the summer besides volunteering to show colleges that this is my passion?</p>

<p>I live in a part of Florida that experiences a lot of controversy over environmentally unsafe practices. There is a lagoon, some lakes, the beach, and protected areas that are home to many many different animals, and some are becoming less and less abundant. There are a lot of houses being built along the river; there are nowhere near as many mangroves as there used to be. The lagoon is pretty polluted, too, from fertilizers and other harmful toxins. The beach is so friggin littered, it's not even funny.</p>

<p>I already volunteer at the Florida Wildlife Hospital and Keep Brevard Beautiful. I want to volunteer at more places like EEL, FWC, etc.</p>

<p>But is there anything else I can do beside volunteering? lol</p>

that is what i am doing.
it just involves time mangement.</p>

<p>-You could go pick up the litter on the beach (this doesn't have to be with a club). I don't know how you'd put this on an application, but it would be fulfilling. Maybe you and your friends could make a club? You could also possibly get involved in the land clean up crews (this might be part of keep brevard beautiful?).
-You could also try get some people together and hold some type of environmental awareness event.</p>

<p>I just realized that ^those are volunteer things.</p>

<p>I think that making a website would be a great thing to do. It could hep you organize the events I listed above.</p>

<p>You could always take some environmental classes at your local college or read some books about it?</p>

<p>Do something having to do with the environment, but something that makes you as miserable as possible.</p>

<p>Write about it in a college essay.</p>

<p>Yeah, I already pick up litter for KBB.</p>

<p>I wanted to do research or something, but how da hellz do you do that? And what places would accept a 17 yo high school student? lol</p>

<p>ugh, I don't want to create a website. I don't know much about web design. I tried learning just html, and I couldn't focus even on that. It is sooo boring.</p>

<p>Depending on what Grade you are in, Read until you can't read anymore...become a bookworm...
It'll help your vocabulary, thus helping your SAT taking skills... Which is basically studying... sure its boring... and I'll admit to be hypocritical... I hate reading... but I have a busy summer...and it's what I'm told will work best...</p>
