I need to contact financial aid!!

Is there a way to contact the Office of Student Financial Services through email?
I can't find an email address anywhere.

Calling them is not reliable...

Yes.
Ask Don. It should be a link on the left when you are on what I owe or something on UT Direct or google Ask Don Ut Austin.

But it takes FOREVER for them to get back to you.

I would say calling is the smarter thing to do if you need something done quick. I wouldn’t wait around for email.

[FINANCIAL AID: Ask DON!](http://utexas.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/utexas.cfg/php/enduser/home.php?p_sid=)

Go ahead and send your inquiry through Ask Don, then call them the next day to talk to an adviser. See if the adviser can pull up your Ask Don question that you sent them.
OR
Call the Financial Aid office and ask them for an (or your) adviser’s email address or fin aid office’s email add… Then Email them and later call them to follow up on the email.

As nerd855 said, emailing takes too much time and when I use to work at my college’s fin. aid office, advisers were so caught up in the work that they leave answering to the emails the last thing to do. The best way is to go in person and wait in line, if not that then call them and also send in an email through ask don if you can.

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Main - (512) 475-6282

I’ve been needing to contact them as well. I sent an inquiry a little over a week ago, I believe, to AskDON but it hadn’t been resolved. So I sent another one about three days ago to no avail. So I called their offices yesterday and today during their open hours, but I got the tone you get when a phone is disconnected.

Just keep calling.

This is what happened to me:

My fin aid problem wasnt urgent so I didnt mind waiting.

I sent a message to them on April 24th. They sent me a message back on May 19th saying that they forwarded it to my counselor. Then on May 26th the counselor emailed and said they sent my request to the financial aid office (apparently the counselors and the office are not one in the same) and that it would take 7 - 10 days to finish. Like two weeks later everything was completed.

So that’s like over a month? It would prob take longer now since people are going to start trying to pay fall tuition.

So yeah. Call.

Oh Ask DON…actually I have one of my questions on there. So no direct emails to the counselors themselves? Well, I don’t like having my question on there though, like it has my ut eid and email address for anybody to look up! Or do the counselors only have access to the questions?

Uh they dont post the specific questions that the students ask on there. They post general ones. No one can see what you asked and if they did I am pretty sure they would not post your personal information with it.
