I need to get this settled. 2 or 3 subject tests?

Many places, such as Collegeboard, people, forums and whatnot say you need 3 subject tests when applying to Harvard, however, I recently went to an Ivy League presentation locally in the area and the Harvard representative said that you only need 2 Subject Tests. The Harvard website also states that you only need 2 Subject Tests...

From the Harvard website: "Candidates may complete testing (SAT or ACT with writing and two SAT Subject Tests) by using the January SAT or the February ACT dates, but we urge you to have your testing completed by the December date. Please note that in order for your application to be considered complete, your official test scores must submitted directly to Harvard by the testing agency on your behalf."

So it is 2 or 3? :/

Harvard requires two, but will accept more if you want. They used to require three, which is the source of the confusion.

2 why trust other people about it over the school itself? Doesn’t make sense if you ask me

Thank you! Clears a lot up.

I highly value the information on Collegeboard.com, and I also remember receiving a packet from Harvard stating that it required 3, and then reading that it required 2 on its website… Really got me confused.

Harvard only requires two subject tests, though you can certainly choose to take more if you wish.

2 is the minimum.
