I Need Your Advice!!!!!

This is going to sound ridiculous to most of you. BUT!

I'm debating whether I need to take the SAT. I took the ACT and scored a 36. But I'll be applying to the elite colleges this coming fall cycle....and I keep hearing that they prefer the SAT, even if it may only be unofficially. So, do I really need to take the SAT?

I do realize I absolutely have to take the subject tests, but that is beside the point at the moment. haha :D

even if they preferred the SAT, a 36 is damn impressive. it’s insane how you’re actually considering taking the SAT.
save your money

I figured. I’m just…paranoid. haha

bump (10 char)

bump bump (10 char)

why are you bumping this thread? lol

What strosfan said. Don’t waste you’re money or time. Leave the 36 because you take the SAT and don’t do as well as the ACT they can see that and it might hurt you. Stay with the 36 man! lol

I want validation from others so I have confidence in my decision! lol

Harvard only wants SAT scores.
Same with Princeton, Yale, Brown, UPenn, Columbia, Dartmouth and Cornell.

36 means nothing

Go to the websites for colleges that you might want to attend. Look for the undergraduate admissions information. See if they list requirements regarding tests. For example, on the Harvard website, you will find the following:
“Candidates may complete testing (SAT or ACT with writing and three SAT Subject Tests) by using the January SAT or the February ACT dates, but we urge you to have your testing completed by December of your senior year, if at all possible.”
(from [Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Freshman Application Process](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/index.html))
and…
“We require the SAT Reasoning Test or ACT Test with Writing, as well as
three SAT Subject Tests. Students are free to use the College Board Score
Choice option or a similar option offer by the ACT.”
(from http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/forms/instructions_0910.pdf</a>)

Dig around on the sites for the most specific information you can find.

What? This is simply false. Do not take the SAT I.

heplayer92 is just ■■■■■■■■…unless he cares to offer a rebuttal/evidence

I’m anxious to see what kind of rebuttal/evidence heplayer might find after I quoted text straight off the current Harvard application instructions stating that they require ACT with Writing (or SAT Reasoning Test).

You did take the optional writing portion, didn’t you, panky14?

yes, with writing…kinda foolish not too. lol
