I need your help CC. (aka UGA vs. FSU)

Hi, I was just accepted to UGA. HOPE Scholarship, free tuition, etc.
I'd prefer to attend FSU. However, even with the many scholarships I've received, its still more than UGA.

I need yall to list awesome things on why I should attend FSU (for media production) instead of UGA (for broadcast journalism)

Thanks in advance

they wouldn’t let me go west coast, and I wouldn’t have gotten in anyway >_>

FSU [Academic Program Map - Media Productions](http://www.academic-guide.fsu.edu/Maps/Mapmediaproduction.html)
[Acceptance into all our undergraduate majors is highly competitive. Our programs are limited-access and limited-enrollment.](http://comm.fsu.edu/Communication-Dept/Academic-Programs)

UGA [Broadcast Journalism](http://www.bulletin.uga.edu/MajorSpecific.aspx?MajorId=35)

Looks like a couple of competitive programs.

I don’t think there would be compelling reasons overall to suggest that you pay more to choose FSU. But the fact that you’re seeking those reasons is telling - you apparently just feel more at home there.

Financially I do not think that FSU gives you anymore than GA so I would go with the GA scholarship. Also consider this, Athens proximity to Atlanta (home of CNN) might give you great access to opportunities for internships or making connections for job opportunities.

“I’d prefer to attend FSU”

then ATTEND.

What jdjaguar said. FSU was ranked the 5th best value public college by the Princeton Review while UGA was 9th.

[Best Value Colleges for 2009 and how they were chosen - USATODAY.com](http://www.usatoday.com/news/education/best-value-colleges.htm)

The programs you want to study at each school seem equal academically. Both have good social scenes and good sports scenes, though FSU actually decides to show up during basketball season. But all the differences are negligible. Exactly how much more money would FSU cost you? If you really want to go to FSU, then go.

Go ahead and pick FSU. They reduced out-of-state tuition to only 12k a year.

12K a yr? like, thats the rate, or are you talking bout with the scholarships [that i mentioned in other threads]. If you mean the former, I need a link ASAP cuz that will help the decision (my parents think its 18K cuz thats what Collegeboard says)

FSU tuition and fees, as of Fall 2008, are listed here > [Student Financial Services: Tuition Rates - Main Campus](http://www.sfs.fsu.edu/tuition.html)

603 x 30 = 18K/yr
but with my scholarship…
374 x 30 = 11K/yr

Georgia is a BETTER school and you get to go free, what exactly is the issue?

Go to Georgia if it is a toss up, but if you really want to go to FSU, then just go
