This thread is assuming that I will not get into Penn, or UGA, because if I get into one of those, I'm going.

What are pros and cons of Florida State and U South Carolina, and which would u recommend? I would be majoring in Media Production at FSU and Electronic Journalism @ USC..

Although you can easily fly into the Tallahassee airport from Atlanta, driving from Atlanta to Tallahassee has a “you can’t get there from here” feel. Too, the Georgia State Patrol is enthusiastic in its enforcement of the speed laws along Georgia 300 from I-75 to the state line.

Columbia is much more accessible to Atlanta.

An uncle of mine has music degrees from both USC and FSU. For what it’s worth, my uncle’s loyalties run far more deeply towards FSU.

I’m no fan of journalism or communications programs. Big name news organizations hire mostly liberal arts graduates who have student newspaper or broadcast experience or from internships.

If your credentials make it worth the price of postage to even take a shot at Penn, you’re a lock for U.Ga. Relax and enjoy the Spring weather this weekend!

I have some familiarity with both, and I can’t think of a single reason to recommend one over the other. Even the towns are relatively similar. Neither school is qualitatively better overall than the other. FSU may be slightly cheaper OOS.
