If you really want to leverage Wharton, you better start taking out some debt.

To be frank...if you don't go to Wharton you can still make it in investment banking. However if you do go to Wharton (transfer or whatever) and find you don't belong there, you're in a much bigger hole than all your fears about not going to a "head-turning" school. They rejected you ED because they don't think you're a match for the program and they don't think you would succeed. It has nothing to do with not enough spots or whatever, if that was an issue you would have been deferred.

I was rejected from Wharton, I've gotten over it. RU and Northwestern are both great schools.

thanks, LionsOnAPlane.

Northwestern is a little too pricy and im still on the waitlist[idk about the stats of getting off, i heard it varies a lot]

Rutgers might be my destination.

You're on the waitlist at Northwestern? It seems like you are simply unwilling to give up your unrealistic expectations.

magnetschool sounds like J. Hall

hey i'm on their waitlist as well! hurrah for the world, and the anthropic theory (without the religion crap, but the theory is cool. very egocentric!)

but really man, you seem to be wanting to go to penn just because of its prestige and power in the business world. god damn, but stop already. if you wanna try and transfer, at least try and get an appreciation for something OTHER than wharton's name...penn is a fantastic school and there really is so much more to it than just the prestige and rankings.

gluck with northwestern though, if you are lookin for prestige, kellog certainly isnt lacking - its pretty close to wharton if i recall.

umm yeah NW has kellogg, but keep in mind that's a Graduate School for Business.

Ah Well. If Northwestern opens up I dont think I would take it because it's too expensive, too far from where it would be more convenient for me [near relatives], and doesnt offer a curriculum that I might be able to ace and get a good social time with. Rutgers it is.

And this is the part where I also begin to give up my hopes for transferring to Wharton. I guess it's just too slim of a chance.

I doubt your chances of getting off the waitlist though. These colleges know how many kids will probably matriculate and are usually very close. Maybe they take off 20 kids from the waitlist every year out of a thousand or so. I guess you're going to Rutgers. I'm sorry that Don Imus ruined their name for you.

Now impboy's chances of getting off the waitlist are much better because he's a cool person.

impboy's the man! i wish you got in dude

heh thanks guys. but honestly, i still sincerely hope to be seein you guys next year. ill let you know sometime in the next few weeks whether or not i will be. chances are low, but my hopes are high :) what a great combination!
