I am a third year at a community college and I have been accepted to only some colleges that I applied for. Unfortunately, not many that I actually wanted to go to. I reside in orange county, and the only school I really am able to go to is CSUF for clinical psychology. I planned to go to UCI but my double major got messed around because of my GPA.
Another decision I was wondering if I should do is, should I stay another semester to BOOST my gpa to widen my choices? I am unsatisfied with the schools I got into. My gpa is currently a 3.3. I want to boost it to around 3.4-3.5 to see if I get into more schools. Should I do it? Or should I just suck it up and go to CSUF?
How many semesters have you been at the community college? It seems like you would be running out of courses to take there if you are in your third year. If you have been there 5 semesters already with a 3.3 GPA, then even a 4.0 next semester would only bring up your cumulative GPA to a 3.4. What If you stay there an extra semester and you don’t get a 4.0?
I would have to take 3 courses that are extra courses for my major. I am hoping I would get a 4.0 if I chose the right teachers and really believed in myself.
I don’t think the UC’s take mid-year transfers. UCI is on the quarter system anyway.
Were you thinking of then applying for a UC for Fall 2016???
You’re not “sucking it up” by going to CSUFullerton. It’s a very fine school.
Also, if you qualify for aid, you may be screwing yourself by staying at a CC too long.
You’re being silly…go to CSUF.
