I'm a half Nigerian/Trinidadian american citizen who's in 8th grade. I played the cello for 6 years and i'm taking Algebra 1( have a 4.0 GPA) at the time. Planning on skipping Physical Science, Analytic Geometry, and World History. I'm on the Swim team, program java and c++, and i play in the youth orchestra at the university in my town.

I really think that anyone below 11th grade should be forbidden from making threads in the Admissions and Chances sections… And the idea of an 8th grader already worrying about getting into a specific college is just ridiculous. How about you forget about MIT for the next three years or so, do well in school, and just keep doing whatever you enjoy. And read this article: [Applying Sideways | MIT Admissions](Applying Sideways | MIT Admissions) It’s great for people in your situation.

Don’t get stuck in the mentally and emotionally draining black hole that is college confidential!! You have nothing to worry about
Peace out sauerkraut

You’re already on a much better track than I was in 8th. All I did was watch anime and played MMOs granted I built the computer.

Listen to ivanov2014.

Don’t worry about it in 8th grade. At the same time, don’t slack off too much during high school.
