I have passion in dancing.
I did numerous performances on the street and orphanages. How in the world could I show my passion other than writing an essay??
May I send my performance video to college??
I heard some people say additional supplement will bother colleges. Is it true?
Any suggestions....

Well, you could put it down as an extracirricular or community service. If you can go for an interview, you could express your passion then. Some schools allow you to send materials such as video, tapes, etc. You need to look at the college website or contact the Admissions Office.

It’s great having a passion. It’s something to jump out of bed for and look forward to everyday. Physics is mine!

What schools are you applying for?

I am planning to apply UNC and College of William and Mary but I’m applying next year
I agree on your opinion. It is really encouraging to have a passion. Good luck with your colleges you have applied!

Colleges will want to hear about your dancing through the essays you submit (assuming they ask for an essay). Most colleges don’t want tapes, unless you are applying to a college that specializes in dance.
When you write, you should focus your message on how you have grown personally from your ability to express yourself through dance. How has dancing made you a better person and how do you think you will make the world a better place? Can you bring joy to those watching you? Can you mentor disadvantaged youth by showing them how to bring joy into their own lives through dance? Can you convince colleges that happier people are easier to teach (it’s true!)?
I admire people like you who have found something to enrich their lives. I think you have a lot to say and colleges will want to hear it. Please be sure to write your message yourself - never let an adult touch it, other than to help you condense your sentences, find a more descriptive word or two, or to clean up grammatical mistakes. College essay readers can smell an adult essay ten feet away.
Good luck!

I would write an essay about it and then go for an interview and explain to them your passion, they love hearing about students’ dedications!

Even if you write about it in your essay, its always good to re-emphasize.

What I would do is put it in your additional information (such as a resume) or, if its commonapp (i know w&m is), write about it on the one section that asks you to ‘elaborate’ on an activity.
