I saw someone cheating today

Why would flipping sections be at all helpful? There's more than enough time to finish each one...

Well a math genius might really benefit from an extra five minutes in the reading or writing section. I think it depends on the person really..

I mean not saying it would insanely help you, because if you didn't know the information, then you probably wouldn't get that much of a better score...that being said you could find out which section is experimental...find out the order of the sections and gauge your mental focus...

it's an unfair advantage and should not be allowed...but tattling is dumb.

I find that I finish every section with at least 5 minutes to spare... Most of the time I've got enough time to check things over multiple times, and usually a minute or two is spent decorating my test booklet with doodles... It seems like everyone is done with time to spare, too, at least at my test centers.

stop hatin because he gives himself an acceptable advantage. Life is full of cheating. The SAT is a test to show capabilities. Some people are better at cheating, and there score will demonstrate an aptitude for something. Plus the advantage he got is so minute...

The world's not all sunshine and rainbows. People cheat. Not only do they cheat, but a lot of the time it helps them.

Yep. Let them cheat, it will catch up to them later in life.

if u think flipping through sections is bad, wait till u hear this. I know a kid who had a microcam and earbud attached....he had long hair....and had his brilliant sister who scored a 2400 on her first try doing all the problems. He ended up with a 2380, superscore of 2400.

In my school people put in dictionaries in their calculators so they can guarantee a 100% on vocab.
One person ended up getting 2400 on the october 4th test, i wonder why.

Why is everyone trying to burn the OP for suggesting that cheating is gasp!! bad? Most people here are trying to justify cheating, which, by the way, is illegal...

cheating is not illegal. officially CB can do no more than cancel the cheater's scores.

Breaking the terms of service and making the test even worse for every one else then, if that fits better. :P

someone's phone rang... someone was streaking... someone left early etc etc. lol lol jk but really things do happen but proctors dnt care

i totally agree with linz, even if it makes me unpopular. the only thing wrong w/ reporting a cheater is that i heard CB will trip about the other testtakers too and may affect their scores.

Chill out. Live and let be. Focus on yourself.

i would never even glance up from my test desk if i was taking the sat...

I guess the cheater(plus the advocates here, potentially) will continue performing his/her mendacity in college and beyond... And at some point s/he'll compensate for all the Karma s/he has compiled...

choklit rain: i think actually u can get in legal trouble... im not sure.
