I sent in my SIR. What do I do now?

I sent in my SIR a week and a half ago, and Dartmouth sent me a confirmation email that said that I will be contacted later this spring with more information. And since then, I haven’t heard from them about roommates, dorms, etc.
I’ve heard from people that you have to go to the Facebook group to find a roommate with similar priorities, but I don’t have an account, so should I make one? And what’s the next step on the road to matriculating? I’m the first one in the family to go to school in the states so everything is very new. Thanks!

I recall from last year, when my S was accepted, that it takes them quite a while to get going with that stuff. Too soon to worry about it! But doesn’t hurt to join Facebook and your class page.

@myaccountname my daughter does not do social media of any type and did not create a Facebook account once she was admitted. It does have an advantage of making connections prior to your arrival but isn’t necessary if you aren’t comfortable with it.
Dartmouth will assign you a roommate. Keep an eye out for information in your Dartmouth account. They should have a survey for you to answer to aid them in placing you with a roommate. It is not like other colleges that have you search for one on Facebook amongst admitted students. If I remember correctly it was perhaps as late as July before my daughter found out who her roommate would be and her housing assignment. As for the next step you will soon be getting information on Trips and choosing which adventure to take part in. While it is not mandatory is it an important part of the Dartmouth experience and should be taken. Welcome Home
