It’s been almost a week before the first people have heard and I still haven’t gotten a phone call, letter, or e-mail. Is this a bad sign?

i don't know what to tell ya... u just gotta wait it out... sometimes they have the wrong # on file... so perhaps they called the wrong number... maybe the person dialing dialed the wrong # and didn't realize it... maybe the mail got lost... maybe they typed in the wrong e-mail... i don't know what 2 tell u... but yet again... nothing is 100% till u have that offical letter in your hand saying that you in (or not... but lets not think about that...) just relax... enjoy your snr year... again it is out of your hands.. there is nothing u can do... u just gotta sit and wait (i know it sucks... i was in the same position as you....)

good luck!!!!!!! my fingers are crosses 4 u :)

Thx,
Would it be okay to call tommorow?

...again i'm not an admsisions counclier... nor do i work for the university... so i don't know how it operates.... so your guess is as good as mine... i mean it couldn't hurt to call and ask... worse case sinaro they say they can't tell ya... so that i have to wait it out a big longer... yet again the university shuts down tomorrow... so possibility of an admission counciler even being there... kinda slim... i'd reccomend that u call morning-ish... that is if u are gunna call... the campus opens up again Jan 17th

zaddoxbg, definitely call. My daughter applied last year and American somehow misplaced her application after she received a post card saying her application had been received and was complete (this in Dec.) We realized that students started getting e-mail acceptances in mid-March. She called, they said wait till April 1st. She and I both called after April 1st and it took almost a week to get to her regional admissions rep who told us that her decision would be on it's way. It was after April 15th when we finally got her acceptance letter. The admissions staff we talked to each time were always very pleasant and very polite. If we hadn't called and been persistent who knows what might have happened. So definitely call...things do happen and things sometimes get misplaced. Good luck with your application.

I received a call for my application but actually haven't recieved anything in writing so far so you never know. The mail is slow. Good luck!!

I haven't heard either. I think its a bad sign. Maybe it has something to do with applying online? Did you apply online, or via mail?

I applied online. That's a good idea! What about you?

I applied with the paper common application.

Don't worry, but it wouldn't hurt to check if they do have the app. if you're not sure. I called and emailed our area's admissions rep. yesterday to be sure they had my daughter's application in the ED pool, mentioning that I heard letters went out last Friday. I got an email back saying they did have it, that there are several batches of letters going out, and we should definitely hear by Jan. 1st.

Maybe they're saving the deferral and rejection letters for after the holidays.

Well, I just got my rejection letter. Congrats to everyone who did get in, have a great next year. l8r

so sorry... :(

I'm sure that you'll find your school out there... getting rejected from your "top choice" isn't the be all and end all... my top choice last year was Skidmore & GW... i got rejected from both... and i didn't know what i was going to do. In the spring i visited one of the schools that i got into (AU)... which i didn't really like when i saw it the first time... and actually the only reason why i applied was because it was free...

anyway so give schools that you overlooked another shot... and visit schools in the spring... also i'd reccomend staying over so u can get a real feel of the school...

good luck... and srry about your dissapointment
