I submitted my Common App 9 minutes late. Would that be a problem? Would they reject me because of that?

ya, even 1 second over and you’re pretty much screwed. tough luck

Some schools will care, some won’t. Sometimes, they might mark it as late…but there’s nothing you can really do. No, you are not completely screwed (but they might think you procrastinated or something).

Which school? I forgot about my BC app (I know, I’m an idiot) and submitted it half an hour late. I had my GC call when I got back to school (this happened during winter break) but even before she called I got a login on BC’s admissions site and they said they’d received my app and everything. Even when my GC talked to them they didn’t seem to care. It does depend on the school but from what I’ve heard most are pretty lax about it. 9 minutes is also really no big deal.

Note: a good way to tell if it will be OK is if a) Common App let you submit and b) the next morning (or whenever) the college downloads your application. You can check that on your Common App.

I disagree with Sabor. It really depends on the school. I applied 5 minutes late and got into Stanford. It may hurt your chances, but it shouldn’t determine whether or not they consider you.
