I suck at taking tests

Science tests to be more specific. I'm fine with math, vocab, whatever... Just not science. I do fine and get nearly 100% on all of the labs and worksheets but when it comes to tests I make the DUMBEST mistakes ever, or have the correct answer bubbled in and change it last minute, just to find out that I had it correct the first time. I do this EVERY SINGLE TEST on 3-5 questions and always doubt myself. I try really hard; and study a good amount; science just seems to kill me (we're not talking Fs here...mostly Bs) but even if I try 200% harder in science in comparison to math, my score still won't be as high.

Does it happen to anyone else in any other subjects, or do I just suck at science?

Well, if most of your answer changes are from right to wrong, stick with your gut.

Unless you can give concrete proof why your original answer is wrong, leave it alone.

I was about to rage after I read the thread title before I read the post. I HATE when people say “omg, I’m just bad at testsssssss”…

Im planning on going with my gut instinct as well for my next test, wish me luck! And mathemagician: me too, except that’s not really the case for me (I couldn’t think of a better title for this thread, sorry if it was misleading haha). I do fine on math tests because there’s a legit way to check your answers. Vocab is common sense a lot of the time (multiple choice), and I love history so I guess it comes naturally. Maybe I’m just really indecisive or unsure when it comes to science, because I really don’t enjoy it, which results in lack of interest, which ultimately results in poor performance? Oh I dunno, it just ticks me off when I know I had it right before. I will definitely take both of your advice into consideration!

I don’t do very well on science tests either. Which is why I’m failing AP chemistry at the moment. But i also don’t do homework or seek help or study. But still, I think the reason for my performance is that the material is especially difficult for me, not that I am especially lazy.

I don’t know - but my advice is to get use to it, to accept the deficiency. From my experience, it is not something that one can change very easily.
