i am still a sophmore but over the long weekend I visited a college with my family. We went to Hiram college and I just liked everything about it-that may be early to say but I did some additional research and I really like their academic schedule and their general philosophy. I want to know if anyone has gone there or heard of it and their opninion?
Also, can I get in with 3.55 GPA?

yes, easily

A nice easy, breezy college; SAT range of 970-1250, 85% acceptance rate, and 52% of students earning less than a 3.5 GPA in high school.

You're in, baby!

Thanks-I wasn't able to find information on the GPA!!!!

It is wonderful college one of my favorites. It is true that their GPA is 3.4 and stats are reasonable but they do perform great job with their students as their admission rate to medical schools is 100% and they produce lots of Ph.D's in many departments.

Hiram is in a class of it's own . My D was a great tester - high SATs but her gpa in HS did not reflect her potential but she had AP courses going into Hiram . I have to say that she is in her sophmore year and she has already blossomed. The difference is that the teachers are real teachers who really care about their students ----and where they are heading .

The three weeks study abroad has been wonderful for many of her freinds . The diversity is amazing for a little campus - jocks sit in happily with the artsy types. She has already done rugby intermural for women and two research trips to DC with her history class. Her work-study has been interesting and she got a lot of help doing internship applications for the summer . The vegetarians have their own co- op.

Every single one of her freinds that graduated last year got right into Grad school .

Only bummer is the ruralness .............but she has made good freinds that weekends - and studying --- fly by fast .

We dropped her off last weekend after a long weekend and the view of the lit historic library clock with the snow around this academic village & students walking around safely made us feel happy that she loves it there , enough to graduate .
