on my report card...

span 2 A

basically both my math and comp sci teachers made mistakes...they were actually connected errors through the same department on the crazy grading program that my school uses. This year was the fist year that all teachers had to use it so my comp sci and math teachers ended up forgetting to input the final which obviously lowered my grade by a lot...down to a B I worked really hard but my math teacher said unfortunately shes really sorry but cant do anything to change it since she already inputed it.. ._.

my comp sci teacher said there is a slight chance he might be able to change it..idk he might but not my math teacher..basically its a real mess

My counselor informed me that only teachers can change grades and the administration cant do anything about it.

Ughh.. Im hoping this has not much impact on my college apps for ivies.. your thoughts?

Isn’t this rather contradictory? Your counselor implies that teachers can change grades, but your math teacher says that she can’t change grades. I would tell my math teacher what my counselor said, and possibly tell your counselor what your math teacher says if your math teacher still refuses. Same with your CS teacher.

Sure, if you legitly got Bs on both those courses, it wouldn’t hurt you ridiculously badly in admissions, but I think it’s terrible that you worked hard to earn As in both of them and it doesn’t show because of some stupid computer program mistake. Do what you can to fix this.

well my math teacher said shes already done inputting grades and the system is shut down… and my counselor said that only teachers can edit grades lol… so its a bad system ._.

I would organize a meeting with the two teachers and your counselor and explain the situation to all three of them at once. Perhaps the teachers don’t understand that this is in their court. Perhaps the change in system means that the administration has to step in this time and your counselor doesn’t completely understand. And maybe, as a group, they can all realize the situation and come up with a solution.

Good luck!

Bring your parents into this and make sure that they are adamant about having your grades changed.

This is ridiculously unjust.

Do not bring parents in. Grow up and deal with this on your own. If you can’t get it changed after trying every possible method- then maybe get parents involved.

How do you know for sure what your grades are supposed to be? If it’s some sort of straight plug-and-chug scale and you definitively have an A, then show that to your teachers. The system is probably shut down right now for break. If talking to your teachers doesn’t work, go back to the counselor. If that doesn’t work, try to go to the head of the department or an AP.

There is a way to dispute grades at pretty much every school. Find out how to do it at yours.

Bring your parents in. It sounds like you’ve tried reasonably hard to get this fixed and it’s just ridiculous that you deserved As, worked hard for As, and got Bs. That’s absolutely, completely, unfair, and you should fight this as hard as you can.

Figures that the computer science teacher is the only one who might be able to make the grading program do what it’s supposed to do.
