I think I made a big mistake!

I'm studying abroad this fall semester, so I decided to take out a parent plus loan.

However, immediately after I applied for the loan, and got accepted, I think I may have filled the application out wrong.

I put the loan period as "09/2011 -05/2012", but I only need the loan for the fall semester. Will I get $5,000 each semester? Or will the $5,000 be split in two, and I'll only get $2,500 for the fall?

How much will I get for the fall? And when will my school receive it?

I'm very worried that I filled it out wrong. Please help me!

You need to call the FA office or the agency that provided the loan.

Loans are usually disbursed in equal installments over the school year. As you applied for $5000 for the year, I would expect to see it disbursed in equal instalments of $2500 per semester.

I am a bit confused though. Parent PLUS loans are parent loans in the parent name and can only be applied for and taken out by a parent.

Yeah, I was on my mom’s account. She’s OK with it. She knows.
