I think I messed up..

So, I've recently had the school make the corrections to my financial aid, but I wanted to see the corrections, so when I went in to check the corrections, it now says my application is "Not submitted", does that mean its not submitted anymore? What do I do? Should I go to my financial aid office and tell them? or should I just sign it again and submit? When I view "correction history" it shows that it's "Not submitted" at the top, but underneath it says "Processed Sucessfully" by "College", Will the Financial aid check that instead?

EDIT: I also heard that once your application is process, the school prints out the report and sends it in? Is that true? In this case, does that mean even if I make corrections, it won't have an effect since the school already send in the paper work to the financial aid district?

Assuming that you’re talking about FAFSA, do not make any corrections now that the school has made them. If you have any issues/concerns, please email your FA office. Not sure what you mean by printing/sending…the FAFSA is usually filed electronically.

I’m very confused…you had the SCHOOL “make corrections to your financial aid”? What does this mean?

It sounds like you are talking about submitting the FAFSA. Is that what you mean? If so…the SCHOOL does not make the corrections to that financial aid application (well…not at this point…they CAN make corrections later on if they find you have an error). YOU make the corrections to the FAFSA.

When you submit the FAFSA to the schools it takes a couple of days to “process”. It then becomes available for the schools to upload and use.

What do you mean? The schools receive your FAFSA information. They do NOT print it out and send it in (to where would they send it?).

I’m really confused about what you are talking about.

To make it more clear, I accidentally went into the fafsa place, and clicked on it to see the corrections that the school has made, and it therefore lead to my application thinking that I want to make corrections and now it’s saying that its not completed.

Probably because it appears that you’ve started to make changes again. The previous version is still there, and processed I’m guessing, so I would recommend leaving it alone. If you want to have a reference copy, just print your SAR!

Once you sign in as “make corrections,” it will say “not submitted” to let you know that the corrections you logged in to supposedly make have not actually been sent out (you would need to add PINs in order to submit). That is fine; it doesn’t affect anything. Just leave it be. You can see the changes to your FAFSA by clicking on the Student Aid Report tab. It will show you the most current processed FAFSA transaction.

Thank you Kelsmon, that information is really helpful and relieving to hear! =)
