Question regarding correction in FAFSA.

The financial aid admin at my school made a correction to the papers/information I turned in a few days ago and I have just received an email about the amendments to the info given. I went online to the FAFSA website to view what changes were made and noticed that it was the degree/program that was changed.

I went ahead to make a change to the information on the FAFSA application I sent online regarding that section. My question is: Will the school receive a notification that I made a correction in correspondence with the actions financial aid administrator or will I have to take further action into the matter?

I have already turned in the physical copies of my mothers tax transcripts, W-2's, 1040's, and all the other student requirements.

Thank you for a response!

I believe if the school already made the changes then you don’t have to. If you go back in the school will have to process it again.

You should not have made the correction yourself. Never make a correction to a verified FAFSA. If the school made any additional corrections, your later updates can cause issues. If the ONLY thing the school changed was your degree program, though, you are fine … making the update won’t be a problem.
