When I logged onto UCIrvine's MyAdmissionsApplication,

Admission Decision
We are sorry that we are not able to offer you admission for fall quarter, 2006.

Information for Applicants Not Offered Admission

Your application to UC Irvine is now closed.

We appreciated your academic achievements and admired your extracurricular involvement. UCI's applicant pool was exceptionally qualified, and we regret that we do not have sufficient space to admit every applicant.

Thank you for your interest in UC Irvine. We wish you the very best in your educational future.

Isn't that rude? I personally was so offended by this. UCIrvine should've had enough guts to actually put it in letter form.

"Dear Applicant,"

Not A blantant rejection letter that doesn't even have the courtesy to say, "Dear Applicant".

Am I the only one who was insulted by this?

^ i'm sorry about you not getting in. Do really want to go to Irvine? If so, Orange Coast College in OC has a guaranteed transfer program to UCI, UCSD, and a bunch of others as long as you get a 3.0 GPA. I wouldn't blame ya for goin to UCSD though :-). I have a friend with good stats who hasn't gotten in anywhere yet :-(.

Yes, UCSD is third in line only behind CAL and UCLA. Don't be insulted CA_girl. They probably thought they were a safety for you and so rejected you before you rejected them. Seeing the caliber of other schools you are applying to you certainly should NOT consider a JC. Did you apply to any other UC's besides UCSD and Irvine?

I understand amiradaprincess :) I have talked to CAgirl and read another post of hers on another thread so I know that she has some really difficult choices to make. She is fortunate to have some excellent options though. CAgirl follow your heart; this is YOUR first true adult decison. It should be your choice. It is hard for us moms to send our princesses off to college, but we will adapt.

wait, you got into UCSD but not Irvine, that's weird. Just for future reference what was your major?

collegemom16: def. no on that. While I don't know the admissions process at all I can guarantee that's not how it works. If a stellar applicant applies to a 2nd or 3rd tier college they don't simply reject them because they presume the applicant is using them as a saftey.
