We're still waiting to hear from several schools... Is this unusual or typical?

What does the school websites say about notifications? I don’t believe there is a “national” notification date nor a “national” accpetance date. The websites for the colleges you are still waiting from should yield some information.

Most schools have a commitment date by May 1.

One of the privates says march 15 as notify date so that’s worthless … The other April 1… The CUNYs say nothing…the SUNY in question says nothing either.

I was under the impression that MAY 1 is the official date to accept a school.

Have you checked the individual schools’ forums you’re waiting to hear from? How do they inform? If snail mail only, I would be surprised if most/all schools hadn’t mailed by 4/1. So maybe early next week?

You could certainly send the schools an e-mail or call to check on your applications especially if you had your applications completed and all information required submitted by the deadlines I would be alittle concerned about the private that you say had a March 15 notification date. Some colleges have on-line status information that you could also check.

I believe all NACAC schools (is that the name) have agreed to a May 1 decision date. Most four year colleges use the May 1 date for a matriculation decision.

There was a thread here a long while ago where someone inquired about scholarships with “earlier” deadlines. I believe the consensus to contact the school…which the OP of that thread (and others) have done to “clarify” the May 1 date.

But I would definitely call YOUR college.
