Im an international student

I already graduated high school in may 2010

My high school didnt have a college counselor or anything similar

Apart from that my parents are completely apathic to the idea of me studying outside my home country, actually they do want me to get a college education but have never oriented me besides giving me money for tuiton fees. The money is important but i feel their orientation is fundamental, either way... regardless of that they will allow me to apply to colleges in the US.
The problem is that after researching I found out most colleges ask me for standarized placement exams, like the ACT and SATs. Those tests are not offered in my country, apart from that A) colleges admission offices are not responding to my mails and B) not sure who is supposed to be my counselor since like i previously stated i already graduated and even when i was in highschool i didnt have one.

How do i proceed here bros? im sure i can get my recommendation letters, transcripts and documents for my application for the JAN 1 deadline most colleges have, but what if i cant present the placement exams? am i supposed to fly to the US or something?

where are you from? Are you sure they dont have SATs in your country, because one international applicant to another, there are five different centres in a country like Pakistan, so …

also, think of colleges that dont need SATs (if ur country really doesnt which sounds improbable)… I know a decent many, and decent schools too, that don’t require SAT or ACT for admissions…

The single most important question that you must answer is: Just exactly how much money do you have available to pay for your education?

Sit down with your parents, and get the number. Is it USD 300k total? Is it USD 5k each year for four years?

Once you know that, read through everything (and I do indeed mean EVERYTHING) at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.info/) Then make an appointment with the counselors at the advising center closest to where you live: [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/centers.php) The counselors there can help you with your entire application process. They will tell you where to go to take an ACT or SAT exam, and they can help you figure out how to put an application package together.

It is true that there are many colleges and universities in the US that do not require ACT or SAT exam scores for admission. You can find the current list at [The National Center for Fair & Open Testing | FairTest](http://www.fairtest.org)
