I took French but how do I put that for UC Berkeley?

I’m currently trying to fill out the classes that I took in 9th grade. I took French, but in the application, there is a section for (Year 1, 2, 3, 4) Language Other than English and Elective-Language Other than English. Which one would I put it under?

I took French all the way up to AP French IV, but it wasn’t required for my school.

So, which French course did you take in 9th grade: French 1, French 2, french 3, or AP French - IV did you take while in 9th grade?

I took French 2 in 9th grade because I took French 1 in Middle School

So then list French 2 as the foreign language you took in 9th grade. Or this is not possible for some reason?

OP is asking whether it goes under [Language Other than English] or [Elective-Language Other than English].

Ah. I see. I am under impression that this is [Language Other than English], because usually one foreign language is needed for graduation form high school. I think if there was a second foreign language somewhere in the picture, then it would go under “Elective”.

Put it under [language other than English] so that it fulfills the A-G requirements.
