I turned my application in a little too late.

So over the weekend I got a letter from UMD (maryland) urging me to apply - it said that the fee was waived for me because I was a semifinalist and it also mentioned the Banneker Key Scholarship, which really got my attention. I had NO idea the priority deadline was November 1st, but when I finally realized, I quickly finished the application and sent it in... 3 hours late.

If I turned in the application at 3 AM November 2nd... 3 hours late... will I be completely disqualified from the priority application pool? My application was actually very strong, great essays and short answers and all that.

It wasn’t 3am in Hawaii… it was probably about 9pm. did they specify EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) ?

UMd has a flood of applications to deal with. Their software is a bit buggy and it’s possible that they won’t notice that you missed the deadline. That said, you can probably see what happened if you check your status online. I would not call or email - they are probably swamped and it is unlikely you will get much of a response.
I’m fairly certain that the deadline would be EDT.
