Oh man...I can't believe I did something so stupid.

Okay guys, I have a major problem. UMD was a top choice for me, but I feel I may have screwed myself really badly.

I had everything ready and taken care of - application, recommendations, transcript reports. So I was all set to send in part two of my application when I remembered my Dad would probably want to look over it quickly before I send it in. But stupid me..I got confused with my SAT II date today(12/2) and thought that the UMD priority deadline date was also 12/2(it's actually 12/1). So I thought it wouldn't be such a big deal if I waited for my Dad to look it over before I sended the application in. So he finally looked over it and sent it in..but by the time everything processed the time was 12:15 am 12/2, which is also when I received a confirmation e-mail.

So are my chances severely lowered just because I sent in the app 15 minutes late? Do I still have a chance at acceptance if not being considered for priority admissions? I am seriously stressing out - maryland was a top choice for me and I feel like I may have ruined my possibilities just because I was stupid and waited till the last minute.

2160 SAT(1430 m/v)
88 uw gpa with huge upward trend and excellent senior year grades(~95 weighted average)
Decent EC's
excellent recommendations
good essay.

Don't worry. They won't care about the 15 minutes.

Thanks barium.

Just a quick question though..

Have you or has anybody you know experienced a similar situation?

Do you have any idea of how long it takes colleges to get application materials sorted once they receive them? At least a couple of weeks, in most cases. 15 minutes is nothing (especially factoring in different time zones!), so chill out. ;)

I submitted my Penn application like 2 weeks after the deadline (because I thought that the grey marking meant that supplement would be submitted automatically) and I was told that I would be all right.

Oh my

thank you guys so much.

you just made my day. =)

Even if you miss the priority deadline your grades and SATs are so good that I don't see rejection as all that probable.

You're fine.

Thanks a lot guys.

I guess my main concern was that priority admission applicants have much higher chances at obtaining scholarships and such. Also, the fact that over 40 people apply from my school even though we're in jersey was a little intimidating.
