I'm taking time out of my busy Work Forest hammer time to address some of points on this here thread. Okay. Zoom. I don't really know how to addess this. I mean, I facebook stalked the heck out of you and I don't see how you can say that you're having a miserable time here. On mom's comments about your post, I don't see anywhere a personal attack on you. Nowhere. I don't know, Zoom. I think you should try to venture away from your hall and maybe you'll see Wake's not bad at all. You should make an effort to prove yourself wrong before you pack up your backs and head back towards Ohier.

Haha I also observed your facebook photographs and you seemed to be enjoying yourself :) Give it more time, don't make any rash decisions. Many of my friends at home are unhappy at school, but they know that they have to give it more than a semester.

Just to put this out there. If my parents had the Money, I would not even consider buying a used car. ns347, If parents want their kids to have good cars, let them.

THAT"S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!!

If I make it rich, I want my kid to have the best car.

yeah i concur, its not material things that bother me. If i have money i'm damn sure going to use it, but it is a pretentious attitude. However, people with less money and a chip on their shoulder are bad too. Socioeconomics should not be a factor for friends, but i might just be being idealistic.

Oh, the wonders of facebook. Zoom, your problem is that the only social life you seem to have gotten into is the party scene, hence your halloween ventures and KA rap video party escapade. Maybe try joining some clubs/club sports/organizations, whatever. I think you have to realize that the fratty party scene atracts the socioeconomic class that you seemingly despise. Organizations and Club Sports attract people that are genuinely passionate about what they are doing, regardless of economic situation. Before you deem parties on weekends as the only social option, try to explore.

Couldn't have put it any better myself.

Amen, kyletx.

I never see zoom around campus. Zoom, come party with us sometime. and when I say party I dont only mean getting drunk, I mean having fun.

u think I said that about cars because I'm jealous? no. I said it because I go to a school where 80% of the people are not rich, but the other 20% think its important that they flaunt their BMW's. Seriously, these kids have never held a job in their life. Smoke more weed than there is grass on the football field.

I don't care that they have their Mercedes or Land Rover. I care that they hold their noses so f**kin high that they can smell whats going on in the mesosphere. I care that they tend to ignore those that are not like them.

maybe u will understand this. maybe not. it does not matter to me. I dont intend to spend time arguing with u, I am just stating some common behavior by "rich kids" at my school which I hope will disappear at least at a college. I dont expect college to be an environment full of pr**ks with a big wallet and a tiny heart.

All I'm trying to say is that rich kids aren't heartless morons. I have friends who's parents own companies and fly back home in private jets, they're still cool people.

Having a nicer car/clothes and computer doesn't really make you an asshole. Is thats how you categorize ****, I don't have much to say.

They're just driving the car their parents can afford. If their parents can afford new cars, GOOD FOR THEM. I get rides in them all the time. Heck, I borrow them too.

I know some rich people are cool people, some of my friends are very wealthy (I dunno about rich, but very well off). The point is that I dont care if people at Wake are rich. I care if the people at Wake flaunt their money, have a materialistc attitude. When I went there I didnt notice this, but I didnt really stop and talk to people personally.

Either way I like the college and dont care much about who goes there. Its a great university.

Look, its a great place. When you come here, we really dont discuss how much your parents make or have in their banks.

When its 2AM and youre sitting in the lounge debating over an issue youre passionate about (for eg abortion) (willmingtonwave was in this debate too) how rich you are doesnt matter

i would classify wake forest as conservative, but not totally stuck up rich.

okay thats what it seemed like when I went there.

and honestly I dont care about the money thing, its just I noticed that a lot of people told me wake is a "rich white school".

while somewhat true, its not a bad thing. :)

Firstly, all the Halloween pictures you saw were from OU, and the ones from here were when my friends visited. Anyway, it's my fault for not researching the party scene more thoroughly before coming here. I knew Greek life was pretty ubiquitous but I guess I didn't realize it was the only source of parties. It's pretty true that the frats do tend to attract the socioeconomic class that irritates me, but unfortunatly I like going out and being at big parties. I didn't mean to upset anyone with my comments; I'm sorry if it came across that way. Thanks for everyone's responses.

Zoom, I for one, am not upset at all. Not a bit. I would just ask that you follow some of the recommendations, etc. that some of us made here. Hope it all works out for you.

no zoom1017, you did not upset any of us.

^ well put, emsibdn
