I want to ask about freshmen in ASU mechanical engineering

I’m a senior in high school. My school doesnt provide any AP or honor classes. I just took 2 dual enrollments. And I took my SAT test last month and i got 1000 for first test. (Rd : 440, math:560 essay: 13) I think it is average, but hard to get in ASU mechanical engineering?

I have 3.3 weighted GPA since I was in 8 grade until now. Im a international student who lived in AZ for 5 yrs. I applicated U of A business marketing just in case. And ASU accepted almost 95% of students bc they want money from us. Anyway, Am I still easy to get in to ASU mechanical engineering or U Of A business marketing ?

Why are you applying to business at one school and engineering at another? If you want to study mechanical engineering, why don’t you apply to several mechanical engineering programs?

Bc engineering is high degree for me. I dont know. I just put it safety way

It just seems like the better option would be to apply to a bunch of engineering programs at different schools and hope you are admitted to one or more. Then you could still become an engineer even if it is not at your top choice school. You could always switch into business later if it turned out engineering wasn’t right for you after you started it.

Do you think my overall grade is work for engineering?

I am not 100% sure what you mean by that question, but it seems like you are asking about whether your GPA is good enough to get into engineering. That’s difficult to say because the admissions standards are so varied at different schools. It is a fairly low GPA for most engineering programs, but it would also be on the low end for a lot of business programs as well. That’s why it’s important to apply to a bunch of places.

Ok:) that was helpful. Thank you !

I live in AZ and was accepted to ASU engineering program this year, although I do have higher stats. Still, living in AZ I can say that ASU has an incredibly high acceptance rate all around, including the engineering school. I obviously can’t guarantee anything but I would say you definitely have a good chance.
