I applied as electrical engineering and want to change it to something else. How do I do that?

No big deal.

If you are already in the college ask your academic advisor. If you are not yet in the college, relax. You still have time. A lot of people end up changing their major in the first two years of the college.

more importantly, nothing you say prior to (typically) your sophomore year actually has any meaning. you'll be doing general stuff your first two years, so nobody worries about what your actual major is.

Don't sweat it. that's like worrying about what college you're going to attend while you're a freshman in HS. You've got plenty of time, don't start stressing now.

I disagree.

If you want to switch to another engineering field, it shouldn't be a problem. If you want to switch to an A&S major, and you're in a separate school of engineering, there could be much more paperwork/time involved.

Umm...which college are you attending?

Im still in HS. I applied to Michigan state and plan on going there.

If you want to switch, contact admissions. Otherwise,

If you are a Freshman or Sophomore Engineering student, you must change your Major through the Undergraduate University Division offices (UUD). The UUD Office you go to depends on where you live.
If you live in Armstrong, Bailey, Brody, Bryan, Butterfield, Emmons or Rather, go to the UUD Office in 109 Brody.
If you live in Case, Holden, Wilson, or Wonders, go to the UUD office in South 33 Wonders.
If you live in Holmes, Hubbard, or McDonel, go to the UUD office in 229 East Akers.
If you live off campus or in Abbott, Campbell, Gilchrist, Landon, Mason, Mayo, Owen, Phillips, Shaw, Snyder, Van Hoosen, Williams or Yakeley, go to the UUD office in 170 Bessey.

Engineering programs usually have specific courses of study, so it's probably a good idea to get it sorted out early.
