So I’m currently a criminal justice major and I hate it. I was 100% sure when I started school and I even enjoyed it at first, but now the first semester is about to end and I’ve realized it’s not for me. I don’t really know if I should just wait out the semester and then switch or do it now, since I still need to apply for next semester’s financial aid. I also don’t know what I would want to switch my major to. It’s really stressing me out and would be appreciative of any advice!!
You need to focus on your classes right now, so that you can finish with the best grades possible.
Next semester focus on completing your Gen Ed requirements. You will have to take a lot of different kinds of classes for that (Math, English Composition, Communication, Fine Art, Social Science, Science, etc.). Each of your Gen Ed classes is a chance to think about that subject as a major.
Most CCs do not require any specific major, so you have time to find one. Also, financial aid isn’t usually tied to any specific major. Talk with the Financial Aid office and find out how that works where you are studying.
