I have as it seems 29 transferable credits from my last community college. I work 48+ hours a week at the moment but I would like to continue going to school. My schedule changes all the time, overnights, AM shifts and PM shifts, so a traditional brick and mortar school wouldnt work. I need to stay at this job at the moment because I am a recovering addict and I work at a rehab which is helping me stay clean. If Im not clean I cant accomplish anything. However I want to go back to school for computer science as I feel I will be ready by the time I have the 60 credits I need to transfer to a 4 year. There is no totally online California community college at the moment, though there are plans in motion to start one. I havent found a single totally online college that is decent that I could transfer to atm. My high school gpa was a 2.2 so to get into a decent college, I feel that I`d need to be a transfer student. Any suggestions?
Coastline Community College has some math and CS courses online. But you should check http://www.assist.org to see if they have what you need to complete the transfer preparation.
You can take the courses that you need online at different CCs if that is what would work for you. Given your job, it isn’t likely that you can study full-time, so if you can only find one or two online courses that you need at any given CC, you could take some here, and some there. Just be sure to find out how they would transfer.
