Hello, Im a freashmen in high school this year, and i just wanted to know some of the things that could help make me a better applicant to MIT. First off, i would just like to state that the reason i want to get into MIT is because i want to be apart of the community, i want to thrive in that learning environment. I love math and science like you wouldn't believe! Anyway here is what my plan for high school/Post Secondary is... Right now I'm taking geometry online (so i can get it done in one semester) and Pre-calc. Next year as a sophmore I'd like to take calc, and then for my sciences, take biology and either physics or chemistry. My junior year i would like to take Post Secondary, and take AP Calc in college. Senior year take what ever is beyond Calc (can't think of what it is called right now :p).

Now I've been reading that you need to do some volunteer work and ECs to also get in. The problem is, is i live in a tiny town. I really have no clue how to get started with volunteering? Anyone have any information on that? I guess im really good with computer (C/C++ programming and PHP Web Design) and i try to help out in the linux community as best i can, but i really have no clue how I get started?

Sorry for such the long post, but Thanks in advance for anyone who can help!
